Arty Farty Friday ~ Knitted Pom Pom Hat

So as part of my goals for 2016 I plan on making something new and crafty each month so straight into it this January with some knitting!

I didn't really use a pattern, this is how I made it:

  • So I cast on 30 stitches.
  • Knit 2 Purl 2 Ribbing for 6 rows.
  • Stocking Stitch for the rest. (alternate knit and purl rows)
  • Then for the 2 ears I stocking stitched 13 stitches reducing on every knit row.
  • I cast off the 4 stitches in the middle.
  • Then sewed up and added 2 pom poms.

Hope you like it!!!

With all the rain we are getting I think I'll get a good bit of wear!

Has anyone been knitting lately? Send me links so I can check out your knits??

Happy New Year!!!! Resolutions and Goals ~ Midweek Motivation

Happy New Year Everyone out there in Blogging Land!!!!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas? And New Years? I had a great time with friends and family!
Everyone was home for the season and it was great to catch up. But now since everything has gone back to normal (ha!My life and normal?) I find myself hearing a lot about changes and resolutions.

Resolutions

I've never been one for resolutions.
If I am doing something wrong I don't see the point of waiting until the new year to change it and if I'm doing something right then why change just because it's a new year???
(It also seems that resolutions are just a January fad)

So on that note and to quote Patsy Stone:  "I think this year I'll just try to be a bit more relaxed"

(Saffy:  "What is that dead")

Goals

I suppose these are not resolutions just putting structure in your life for the year ahead!

Where to start??

I guess its as good a place to start as any, maybe I could be more organised and get into a routine!

  • Hot Chocolate Powder
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Candy Canes

  • Fill half the bauble with hot chocolate powder, press down to compact.
  • Crush up a candy cane and add a layer on top of the chocolate powder.
  • Top with mini Marshmallows.

Blogmas Day 21 ~ Don't Forget Yours Pets This Christmas ~

I make my Chinchilla little treats and toys all the time, she's like a child who plays with the box not the toy mostly so I thought it best to just give her the box.

This Chew Block, which she does like, came in a box which I stuffed with hay and one raisin in the middle so she can chew through the box eat the hay and then find the raisin!

I now recycle all boxes, like this chocolate box which I stuffed with Barley!

However if you don't feel crafty (more like exhausted this close to Christmas) you can buy some Christmas Treats, Toys, Stockings or Jumpers from your local pet shop, ebay, amazon, even your grocery store!

Picked these up in dealz for just €1.49

Everyone loves a Christmas Jumper

Or maybe some Toys

Or a stocking for your hungry pet!!

Also don't forget to keep your pets warm in the cold weather or chinchilla cool if your heating is on!!!

Hope you and your pets have a Happy Christmas
